Zhinu, one of the 6 characters from an ongoing project for my Junior Thesis where I design video game characters based off Chinese myths and legends. Zhinu is a celestial weaver maiden from the tale of the Cowherd and the Weaver. She carries two needles in her hair which she uses to split the sky and create the Milky Way galaxy which she crosses with crows. She is a dual wielding mage in my concept of her.

“The cowherd saw forests of chrysoprase and trees of jade. The grass was also jasper and the flowers were coral. In the midst of all this splendour lay a great, four-sided lake.”

“She took one of the long needles from her hair and drew a line with it right across the sky, and this line turned into the Silver River [Milky Way].”
