Mazu, one of the 6 characters from an ongoing project for my Junior Thesis where I design video game characters based off Chinese myths and legends. In Chinese mythology Mazu is a goddess of the sea who protects and watches over her followers. In my concept she is meant to be support class. I made her part sea dragon and gave her wave-like hair that she uses to shield and protect allies.

“When sailors lose their course among wind and waves and darkling clouds, they pray devoutly to the Queen of Heaven. Then a red lantern appears on the face of the waters. And if they follow the lantern, they will find safety out of all danger.”

“The water had the color of ink, both sun and moon lost their radiance, and the word was passed about that the ship had been caught in the Black Whirlpool, from which no living man had ever returned.”
